Pilates Certification in the Bay Area
Qualified Pilates professionals are in demand!
There is no way to get proper Pilates certification from one weekend course. If you are driven to help people understand the benefits of Pilates and how it improves everyday life for everyone. If you want to help people rehabilitate from injury. Or be able to teach clients about the bio-mechanics of movement and the benefits of Pilates…You need more comprehensive training.
The Pilates industry is becoming a truly booming business. There are opportunities abound for qualified instructors. Whether you want to work in a Pilates studio, a fitness club, or a therapeutic clinic, for instance. You need to get certified from a reputable Pilates training institution.
First, Ask Yourself…
If you are eager to pursue a career teaching Pilates, first consider these questions.
-
Are you more interested in leading group classes or conducting one-on-one private Pilates training sessions? Or do you hope to do both?
-
Do you want to teach Pilates mat work? Or the equipment-based repertoire of exercises? Or will you teach a combination of the two?
-
Do I enjoy speaking in front of large groups? (you will essentially be on stage!)
-
Am I self-motivated?
-
Am I okay trading job stability for job flexibility?
In group classes, Pilates instructors adhere to a predetermined sequence of exercises. This ensures that participants receive a balanced, whole-body workout. In private sessions, the workouts must be customized to meet the client's individual goals and needs. Pilates teachers usually offer a combination of group classes and private sessions. This allows you more work opportunities. It is also a good career move, as many facilities require Pilates staff to be trained in both options, to accommodate demand.
